'Getting Around': Group exhibition examines transportation
Show features Tempe photographer Mark T. Eshelman
Getting Around opens at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 20, at Rocket Space Gallery at Danelle Plaza in Tempe. The group exhibition features work that looks at how we get around.
While the art is inside, the parking lot will host unique vehicles. And if you didn't know already, March is Hot Rod Month in Arizona.
As a lifelong Tempe resident, Mark Eshelman has intimate knowledge of Tempe's streets, whether on foot, on a skateboard, by bike, in a car, or by public transportation. For over 40 years, he's been doing much of it with a camera in hand. His work has captured the town's art, architecture, and culture, highlighting its growth and many of its bygone treasures.
The exhibition is being held in conjunction with Open Streets in Tempe on April 12, and ten percent of Getting Around's sales will benefit the Tempe Arts & Music Coalition.
